The Actor’s Co-op Group / ACG was created by actors, for actors, and has secured a spot amongst LA casting director workshop companies as the “Indie film of workshops!”

By offering cold-reading workshops with the same casting directors, associates, assistants, producers and managers / agents that our competition does, but at competitive prices, and with NO membership fees, ACG allows you, it’s actors, to build the relationships with the entertainment community that you need, without costing more money than you can afford.

Our workshop format:

Each workshop begins with our guest telling us a bit about how their office / agency works, and is followed by a brief Q & A session where you’re welcome to ask any appropriate questions pertaining to their office / job / shows, etc.

Eventually the guest will pass out sides (depending on the office, they may pair you up with another actor, or may opt to read one-on-one with you) and you’ll have 10-15 minutes to rehearse, before performing your scenes in front of your fellow actors.

Why cold-reads?

Cold-reading workshops not only allow us to work on material provided by the guest, which is oftentimes from shows they are currently working on, but they also help even the playing field, when it comes to rehearsal time. Additionally, cold-reading is a skill that every actor should embrace, and grow comfortable with. Oftentimes, in audition settings, casting directors may realize they’d prefer to see you read for another role, and so you’ll have very little time to break the character down before showcasing your work. Cold-reading workshops allow you to grow comfortable with the process, and prompt you to trust your instincts as an actor!

NO MEMBERSHIP FEES!

At ACG, you simply pay for the workshops that you choose to attend. We’ve never asked our members to pay a fee to join, and we never will!

All ACG membership is audition based. We believe in maintaining a high-standard of acting, that the casting community has come to respect us for, and expect. Please email us to set up an audition, as we’d love to meet you!
